Monday Morning Prayer: The weight of a Monday

A Thought Prayer is sacred.

Mondays can be difficult, overwhelming, and heavy for whatever reason. Be it the weight of what you have to face ahead or the strain of what you carry from the past. Either way, God is there and is with you. So, I urge you to start the week differently, start with a prayer. Be it a plea to God or simple thanksgiving, whatever it may be for you in this moment, pray.

Prayer is sacred; we often leave it as a last resort when it ought to be the first, the middle, and the end. Prayer is our connection with God, and it cannot be an afterthought; it needs to be what we always do. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’(Acts 17:28)

We are right at the end of the year… I don’t know what that means for you – is the opportunity for rest a possibility, or are you merely reminded that rest is not within reach for you right now? So perhaps your Monday is heavy. Heavy with fear of how you will make it to the end of the year, or heavy with excitement of what this festive season holds for you. Either way, wherever you find yourself, take a moment to pause, take a deep breath, pray, and walk into your week with more than just the weight of a Monday. Walk in with God.

Can you start this Monday with a prayer?

A Scripture "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

— Lamentations 3:22–23 (ESV)

A Prayer

Lord, as I take on this week, carry me when I cannot carry myself.

Where there is uncertainty, give me peace.

Where there is pressure, give me grace.

Where there is heaviness, give me strength.

Where there is beauty, give me gratitude.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

See you next Monday…  until then, be KIND. #Prayer #Praise #FaithReflections #JesusChrist #GracedbyTruth
