Monday Morning Prayer: Do good

A Thought

In a world full of evil, choose to be good. Even when being evil seems popular and even easier to choose to be good.

Choose to be kind. Choose to be loving.

For that kind of heart finds favour with God.

Do not grow tired of doing good. Doing the right thing can be tiring… even thankless. We keep pursuing what is right, and sometimes it feels like there is no reward for it. But perhaps the reward is that we are able to live with ourselves.

And more than that, when Scripture calls us not to grow weary in doing good, and reminds us that at the right time we will reap a harvest, it is really a call to trust God. To trust that even when we don’t see the point…Even when it feels unnoticed…He sees.

He sees our hearts. He will come through. He will make a way. He will see us through.

And I think sometimes the harder truth to accept is that, as much good as we try to do, we are still capable of doing wrong. But even then, that wrong does not define us. God forgives. He steps in. He covers us. Our role is to remain in Him to stay in His love, His grace, His mercy. And He will watch over us.

A Scripture  “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” - Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

A Prayer

Lord, as I choose what is good, may I also choose You.

Strengthen me when I grow tired, and remind me that You see my heart.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

See you next week, Monday…

Until then, be KIND.
