Monday Morning Prayer: The Valley of Death

A Thought

Hard and difficult paths are a part of life. And sometimes, as we walk and tread on those paths, it becomes very difficult to imagine that God is with us — even there.

Because it feels so heavy. So overwhelming.

There’s a saying: “I didn’t know rock bottom had a basement.” That feeling of going through something so difficult, only to be faced with something even harder.

And yet, even there it is possible, it is real, and it is true God walks with us.

Storms are a part of life. Failure, heartbreak, and death are a part of life.

But as we walk these paths, may they not convince us that God is absent.

And as we walk through the valley of death — whatever “death” may look like…The death of an old belief, the loss of a person, the death of a dream

May we find God in it. May we see Him through it.

May we not forget that even on our hardest days, God is right there with us. Right there in the pain. And not only does He sympathise, He understands.

A Scripture  “Even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.” Psalms 23:4 (TPT)

A Prayer

Lord, in every painful valley I walk through, help me to see You.

Father God, may I choose Your presence, even in the midst of it all.

Remind me that I am not alone — that You are walking with me.

May I never feel separated from You in the valley.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

See you next week, Monday…

Until then, be KIND.
