Monday Morning Prayer: Grace to trust Him more

A Thought  There is a hymn, ’Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus. One of the lines is not just a lyric — it is a request, a plea: “Oh, for grace to trust Him more.”

When I think of the Psalms, they, too, are filled with pleas. Raw prayers. Honest cries. This hymn is the same as a human heart approaching God with need. And isn’t that beautiful? The humanity of it all — to go to God with your own version of a plea, to bring Him your stuff.

Imagine if our lives became constant prayers. Instead of roaming around the desert of our pain for forty years, what if we approached the throne of grace — the feet of Jesus — with contrite hearts? What if we brought Him our sorrows, our fears, our “ohh” moments, and simply said,

“Lord, here I am, with all that I have. Could you use my pain? Could you use my stuff? Shake me. Mould me into Your will.”

Every single day requires trust. Every single day requires grace. Not trust in ourselves, not trust in outcomes, but trust in God.

May you begin to see your life differently, to recognise that from the smallest detail to the greatest uncertainty, everything requires trust in Him. And in moments of fear or confusion, instead of holding it in, you go to God and say,

“Lord, here I am. Here’s my stuff. Work Your will.”

Just imagine if we had the grace to trust Him more. Just imagine.

A Scripture  Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

-Mark 9:24 (ESV)

A Prayer

Lord, give me grace to trust you more. In Jesus’ name. Amen

See you next week, Monday…

Until then, be KIND.
