A Thought
I am going to break your heart
If you knew that your relationship would end with you broken-hearted, would you still go into it? If you were told before you got pregnant that your child would be hooked on drugs, steal every penny from you with no remorse, and denounce you as a parent, would you have that child? Knowing a friend would betray you deeply, would you still befriend them?
These are uncomfortable questions, even unsettling. Are relationships worth it? Even more are the people we choose to be in relation with worth it? Some may argue that the in-betweens may make it worth it, but after a broken heart, you think differently about this.
God asked Hosea to marry a prostitute to get an understanding of what it means to love someone who chooses not to love you back. The relationships in our lives are complex, and we can easily make them even more messy. Yet the earthly relationship is not my focus, rather you and God; is there, even "a" you and God? Hosea 1-3
The question for you is, if you knew, would you? The reality of God is that he knew he still chose to love you.
...sit in that.
A Scripture
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.
-Psalm 139:23-24 (NKJV)
A Prayer
Lord, could you allow me to experience your love?
Could you allow me to live in the reality of who you are and let go of the sin that so easily entangles and create and gap between you and I.
In Jesus’ name. Amen
See you next week, Monday…
Until then, be KIND.
