Monday Morning Prayer: The Courage to Hope
A Thought I recently watched a video on hope, and it was probably one of the best descriptions of hope I’ve heard.
“Patience is easier than hope because you are waiting for something you know is coming. Hope is hard because you are waiting for something that may not arrive — and that is a different kind of faith.” — Dulcé Sloan

The Bible speaks about hope deferred making the heart sick (Proverbs 13:12). The possibility — and the reality — of hope is that living in hope means living in that space where you are waiting for something. Sometimes your head and heart play the game that this thing may never happen, yet some keep going in hope.
Hope takes courage.
You could stop hoping and simply live day to day in the inner workings of the ordinary. But to keep the thought alive that this will happen — that this is possible — man, that takes courage. A crazy amount of it.
So courage it is.
Hope it is.
Now these three things remain:
faith, hope, and love.
And the greatest is love.
But the hardest, I think, is hope.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. - Hebrews 11:1
A Prayer
Lord,
Give us the courage to keep hoping,
even when waiting feels long
and the outcome feels uncertain.
Strengthen our hearts when hope feels fragile,
and remind us that You are faithful
in every season of waiting.
Teach us to trust You more,
and to hold on to hope with quiet courage.
